The Red Lion, a dog friendly inn in Odiham1 / 8

The Red Lion

Odiham, Hampshire

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms.

A Grade II listed inn on Odiham High Street, where dogs up to medium size can have a washable bed, a towel, treats and ceramic bowls on request.

Odiham is a historic market town in North Hampshire, and on its High Street The Red Lion is an independently owned, Grade II listed pub and inn whose rustic beams tell many historical tales. With just seven bedrooms, including two interconnecting room options, it is an intimate dog friendly inn, and dog owners are among the guests the inn says its rooms are ideal for.

A limited number of the bedrooms take dogs, for dogs up to medium size that are well behaved and over a year old. A washable bed and blanket, a towel for cleaning and drying off, tasty treats, biodegradable poo bags and a ceramic food and water bowl are available for each dog on request. Two things the Red Lion doesn't say anything about are how many dogs fit a room and if a dog could stay put there while you head out, so settle both as you book. The rooms themselves have top quality en-suite bathrooms, ESPA toiletries, a Nespresso machine with Hampshire-roasted Mozzo coffee and a working area with a comfy armchair.

The kitchen serves British classics and fresh Hampshire fare alongside local craft ale and really great wine, and a freshly made breakfast of locally sourced produce comes with your stay. The Red Lion doesn't mention whether a dog may be with you in the bar or at the table, so ring ahead about that.

Right next door, Odiham Skin Spa offers massages, facials and skin therapies, and Odiham Castle, also known as St John's Castle, is right on the doorstep. The countryside around the town is made for long country walks, and for mooching around the independent shops in town afterwards, before you head back to your dog friendly room.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
