Tylney Hall Hotel, a dog friendly country house hotel in Hook1 / 8

Tylney Hall Hotel

Hook, Hampshire

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 1 dog per room.

A country house hotel in 66 acres of parkland at Hook, where dogs may explore the estate off the lead and join you in the Library Bar.

A dog let off the lead to explore 66 acres of parkland and gardens, then back on it around the house and terraces: that is how a day goes at Tylney Hall, a Grade II listed country house hotel in Hook, a short drive from Basingstoke. As a dog friendly hotel, its walking starts on its own estate.

One dog per room can stay, in one of the selected dog friendly bedrooms, and it arrives to a Sir Woofchester Welcome Pack of treats, a toy and waste bags presented in a reusable bowl, plus a towel to keep paws dry after walkies. The hotel asks you to bring the dog's own bed and any extra bowls, for hygiene, and there is a dog menu to order from during the stay, with additional charges. Inside and around the building and terraces dogs stay on a lead, they should not be left unattended in the bedroom, and they aren't brought into the Health Club.

The Library Bar is where your dog can join you, for food as well as drinks, and dogs are warmly welcomed in the reception areas too. The Oak Room Restaurant holds two AA Rosettes and serves dinner, with lunch at weekends, to the quiet accompaniment of a grand piano, with inventive cooking that has a distinctly British twist and a carefully chosen wine list alongside.

Rooms are furnished individually with period pieces, and in the main Hall they lead off a grand wooden staircase; many have high windows over the rolling Hampshire countryside. There are indoor and outdoor heated pools and five treatment rooms, and the spa holds The AA Recommended Spa Award 2023. The estate is your dog's walking ground, and the hotel's own picks for days out include Bramshill Forest and Farley Mount Country Park.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
