Kingston upon Thames, Richmond upon Thames, London
Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.
A Tudor-style pub hotel in Hampton Wick dating to the 1600s, with dog friendly rooms, a welcome pack and a sausage at breakfast for the dog.
The White Hart Hotel is a Tudor-style pub dating back to the 1600s, set at the foot of Kingston bridge in the village of Hampton Wick, within walking distance of Hampton Court Palace. The 37 bedrooms include a number set aside for dogs, which is the first test of a dog friendly inn.
Those rooms are specially allocated, so the hotel asks you to say that a dog is coming before you book and will confirm one is ready for you both. Two dogs to a room, no more. The welcome pack runs to a sausage at breakfast, and dogs keep their leads on inside and in the garden, with owners asked to clear up after them.
Dogs eat beside you in the bar and out in the garden. The main dining areas are the exception, so when you reserve, request a dog friendly table. The kitchen balances traditional and modern dishes, Sundays bring a roast with all of the trimmings, and the bar pours Fuller's cask-conditioned ales with a long wine list behind them.
The suites are each named after one of Henry VIII's wives, and two have four poster beds, one of those with a roll top bath. Dogs aren't allowed in the suites, but the rooms that do take them come with Egyptian linen, plump pillows and a Nespresso machine. Richmond Park Greater Circular Walk, from our own map, is 2.3 miles out.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
