Book now

Cedar Lodge stands in 35 acres of grounds on a daffodil farm at Whitegate, and right in front of it is an enclosed paddock that is safe for off lead play. That makes this a dog friendly lodge for two where two dogs can stretch their legs before the bags are even in, with a hot tub waiting at the bottom of the deck.

You come in through the utility boot room, a handy first stop for two dogs after the fields, and on into a light, bright kitchen and diner with views from the window and French doors onto the deck. The spacious lounge has an eye catching electric fire and a Smart TV. The double bedroom is en suite, with a separate dressing room and a second bathroom besides.

Outside there are two furnished decks, an open garden and an enclosed gravel courtyard with covered dining, a gas BBQ and comfortable seating. The 35 acres of grounds and woodland are there to explore, home to birds, owls, foxes, badger setts and horses, with the daffodils putting on their display in spring. For an evening out, dog sitting can be arranged with the owner on request, and a dog crate is available too.

Walking and cycling routes run from the doorstep, which means the dogs set the pace from the very first morning. Northwich is 3.5 miles away, with independent shops and eateries and a monthly Artisan Market, and Delamere Forest, with Go Ape among the trees, is 6.5 miles off. Blakemere Village, Tatton Park and historic Chester all make good days out.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Cedar Lodge dog friendly?

Yes, Cedar Lodge welcomes up to two dogs. There's an enclosed paddock right in front of the lodge where dogs can run off lead without needing a gate or a drive first, which is a genuinely useful setup rather than just a token patch of lawn.

  • Are dogs allowed at Cedar Lodge year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so there's nothing to suggest they aren't welcome throughout the year. It's always worth checking directly with the host when you book to confirm arrangements for your stay.

  • What should I know before visiting Cedar Lodge with my dog?

The maximum is two dogs, and the standout feature for them is the enclosed paddock — it's a proper fenced field where dogs can have a real run the moment you arrive. The lodge is also single-storey throughout, which is worth knowing if you're travelling with an older dog who finds stairs difficult. Beyond the grounds, the Whitegate Way is a level, traffic-free trail that starts virtually from the door, so there's good walking on hand without needing to load everyone back into the car.
