Hope Lodge

Hope, Shropshire

A three bedroom lodge for six at Hope under the Stiperstones, with an enclosed garden, a hot tub for six and two dogs welcome.

The owners put out oodies for everybody, which is a wearable blanket and not a thing any other property in this collection provides. It tells you what the hour between the walk and dinner is expected to look like here. Hope Lodge sleeps six under the Stiperstones, dog friendly, three bedrooms with three bathrooms, an enclosed garden with its own patio, and two dogs welcome. Somewhere that has thought about the coming in has usually thought about the going out as well.

There is a hot tub outside that seats six, with robes to get out to it in, and a summer house in the same enclosed garden. Two of the three bedrooms have their own shower rooms, which at six people settles the mornings. Secure storage takes the bikes. Two dogs get a garden shut on all sides and a valley that begins at the end of it.

Half past eight and everybody is outside in a robe or an oodie or both. The tub is going, two dogs have taken the patio and shown no interest whatever in the water, and somebody has walked down to the end of the garden to look at the hill and has not come back yet. Nobody will be suggesting an early start tomorrow.

2 miles west the Stiperstones break out of the ridge as a line of quartzite tors, the largest of them the Devil's Chair, and the ridge between them is the roughest walking in the county and much the best. Snailbeach below was among the richest lead mines in Europe and its buildings are still standing in the trees. Two dogs get open hill and an industrial ruin underneath it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Hope Lodge dog friendly?

Yes, Hope Lodge welcomes up to two dogs. They'll have an enclosed garden to themselves, with the garden shut on all sides and a valley beginning at the end of it — and the Stiperstones ridge for proper open-hill walking just two miles away.

  • Are dogs allowed at Hope Lodge year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend contacting the owners directly to confirm availability and any conditions before booking, particularly if you're planning around specific walking seasons in the Stiperstones area.

  • What should I know before visiting Hope Lodge with my dog?

The property welcomes a maximum of two dogs, and the fully enclosed garden means you can relax without worrying about them wandering off. It's worth knowing that the surrounding area offers serious walking — the Stiperstones ridge is described as the roughest walking in Shropshire — so this is a place that suits dogs who like a good hill rather than a gentle stroll.
