The owners put out oodies for everybody, which is a wearable blanket and not a thing any other property in this collection provides. Half past eight and everybody is outside in a robe or an oodie or both. The tub is going, two dogs have taken the patio and shown no interest whatever in the water, and somebody has walked down to the end of the garden to look at the hill and has not come back yet. Nobody will be suggesting an early start tomorrow.

2 miles west the Stiperstones break out of the ridge as a line of quartzite tors, the largest of them the Devil's Chair, and the ridge between them is the roughest walking in the county and much the best. Snailbeach below was among the richest lead mines in Europe and its buildings are still standing in the trees. Two dogs get open hill and an industrial ruin underneath it.
