Upstairs at Loch Carlingwark Lodge 2, the lounge's full length bi-folding doors fold back to a large balcony with magnificent views over Carlingwark Loch, and that is where four guests and their dog will spend the best of each day. It is a stylish, five star, dog friendly lodge in the historic market town of Castle Douglas, Scotland's Food Town, with an enclosed garden at the front and a fully enclosed rear patio holding its own private hot tub.

The house is reverse level. You come in from the front garden, where a table and chairs, a bike store and a barbecue wait, to two super king zip and link bedrooms on the ground floor, each with a Smart TV, and a stylish bathroom. One bedroom has French doors out to the patio and its hot tub. One dog is welcome, though not in the bedrooms, and the garden and the patio give it two enclosed spaces outside.

Up the stairs, the spacious open plan living area is where the views are, along with a well equipped kitchen, a dining area and a stylish shower room.
