Nutwood Cottage was originally a stable, and today it is a wonderful dog friendly cottage in the beautiful Lakeland village of Grange over Sands, sleeping four with one dog welcome. Walks start straight from the door, along the promenade or up Hampsfell, and there is a fully enclosed garden to come home to.
Off to the left of the hall, the homely dining room has plenty of quirky features, and the kitchen has all the hallmarks of a traditional Cumbrian cottage. At the centre of family life is the lounge, warm and relaxing, with comfortable seating surrounding the open fire and a Smart TV for a movie, and that fire is where the dog will settle for the evening. A desk area sits at the back, and from there patio doors step out to the garden.
Upstairs are two dual aspect double rooms looking over the front and back of the cottage, one king-size and one double, both with Smart TVs, plus the bathroom. Behind the cottage, the garden gives you seating just out from the kitchen, a lovely gravelled area and a BBQ, all enclosed and secure, so the dog can nose around while supper cooks. At the front, there is more seating among the flowers.
Grange over Sands has plenty of shops, pubs and eateries within walking distance, and the scenic south Cumbrian coastline is easily reached for days out with the dog. Cartmel is within easy reach too, with its bespoke shops, quality eateries, Medieval Priory and famous racecourse, and Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside make an easy trip for a boat on Lake Windermere or a visit to the Beatrix Potter attractions.
