A wonderful blend of practical and pretty, it starts with a boot room for coats and shoes, with a washing machine, a sink and extra storage. That leads to the very well equipped kitchen, where an extendable dining table seats all nine and soft seating gathers round the burner. Leading off it are two living rooms: one looks out over the garden and has a Smart TV, and the other, a cosy snug, has a second log burner and peaceful corners for a book or a board game while the dogs doze. Handmade cushions, lovingly created, add a homely touch throughout.
Downstairs there is a single bedroom with a desk, which doubles as a study, and a shower room. The remaining bedrooms are upstairs, with a family shower room and an en suite. Beyond the house, a pretty enclosed garden comes with a BBQ and open countryside views. It adjoins a field with cows and sheep, so dogs must be kept within the garden.
Brassington has historic streets and two village pubs, and there are numerous walks from the village. Carsington Water, just over 2 miles away, is lovely for a scenic walk or cycle with the dogs, while the old railway line of the Tissington Trail offers flat, easy going. Matlock Bath, Haddon Hall with its magnificent gardens, Chatsworth House and the market town of Ashbourne are all within reach.
