Callander Crags Circular Walk
Stirling
Callander Crags is a dog friendly circular walk that climbs through beautiful mixed woodland above the town of Callander to reach a stunning viewpoint at the Jubilee Cairn, erected in 1897 to mark Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. From the top, views stretch south over Callander to the Wallace Monument near Stirling and north into the rolling Highland hills of the Trossachs.
Dogs can enjoy plenty of off-lead time on the woodland trails, with minimal livestock risk on the forested hillside. The paths are well maintained but include some steep stone steps and can be slippery when wet, so paws need reasonable fitness. Parking is available at the dedicated Callander Crags car park, reached by turning off the main street in Callander towards Bracklinn Falls and bearing left at the golf course entrance. There are no facilities on the trail itself, but Callander town centre is a short walk away with cafes and shops.
