Gosford Forest Park Circular
County Armagh
Gosford Forest Park sprawls around the mock Norman Gosford Castle outside Markethill, and the 6 kilometre circular brings together the main trails across deer park, arboretum and walled garden fringe. It is dog friendly but shared with horses and bikes, so the leash stays on for safety throughout.
Ground is a mix of tarmac drive, forest road and gravel track, comfortable on pads and buggy friendly along the main loop. Deer roam fenced off in the namesake enclosure, so keep a firm grip on excitable dogs near the fence line. The car park, toilets, play area and visitor information hut are at the entrance; parking costs around 5 pounds per car and there is a small cafe trailer at busy weekends.
