1 / 8Ettington Park Hotel
Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire
Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.
A Neo-Gothic country house in 40 acres of parkland on the River Stour near Stratford-upon-Avon, where dogs find treats on arrival and grounds to explore.
Six types of Cotswold stone went into the Neo-Gothic mansion at Ettington Park, which sits in 40 acres of parkland in a valley with the River Stour winding through. It holds AA 4 Red Star status, keeps fine paintings and friezes from centuries of heritage, and is a dog friendly hotel with grounds, gardens and woodlands to wander with your dog.
A selection of the bedrooms are set aside for dog friendly stays, with room for up to two dogs, and plenty of treats are waiting when your dog arrives. In the hotel's public areas dogs should be well behaved and on a lead. These stays are arranged through the reservations team, as dog friendly rooms can't be guaranteed when booking online, so ask them too about leaving a dog in the bedroom while you're out, a point the hotel doesn't state either way.
The Hand Picked Hotels group bars dogs from its restaurants, and Ettington Park doesn't say where yours could join you for dinner, so ask the team first. The hotel's restaurant holds two AA rosettes, and the Great Drawing Room has an ornate ceiling, tapestries and huge sash windows over the grounds; the setting is made for a celebration of regional culinary delights. Afternoon tea comes with a view over the parkland and the river, with the Norman chapel as a backdrop.
The Feature Rooms have four poster beds, separate seating areas and countryside views, and the spa has an indoor pool lit through a glass roof, a spa pool, a sauna and steam room and the Redwood treatment room. Out in the grounds, gardens and woodlands, the hotel asks you to clean up after your dog, and the start of The Cotswold Way is a few miles from the hotel for a longer day out together.
