Langstone Cliff Hotel

Dawlish, Devon

Yes. Dogs can stay in all rooms.

A family run hotel at Dawlish Warren, set in 19 acres of woodland and lawns where dogs can run, with the beach a short stroll away.

Langstone Cliff Hotel is a family run hotel set in 19 acres of woodlands, lawns and gardens on the south coast of Devon, overlooking the Exe Estuary, with Dawlish Warren Beach a short walk away along a public footpath. This is a dog friendly hotel with room to roam: you're welcome to exercise your dog within the grounds, as long as you clean up afterwards.

Dogs are welcome in all 64 bedrooms, 17 of which have private balconies. The hotel can't accept aggressive or incontinent dogs, and it asks that dogs stay off the furniture, even on your own rug or blanket, and aren't fed in the public rooms; the grounds and the Verandah are the places for that. After a walk there's a mains water tap just outside the main entrance, and staff keep a few water bowls to lend.

Dogs are very welcome in the Lounge and the Poolside Room, and if you'd like your dog with you at breakfast, you can eat in the Lounge, which runs as a self-service breakfast room. Tell the team in the Lincoln Restaurant and they'll hand you a tray of cutlery and condiments. Dogs aren't allowed in the restaurants, the swimming pool areas, the children's play areas or on the tennis court. Through the day the Lounge serves snacks and light meals, with views over the lawns and the estuary.

An indoor pool, spa treatments, a tennis court and a golf practice driving range fill the time between outings. The coastline is right on the doorstep for walks with your dog. On Wildpack's map, Langstone Rock Beach is 0.5 miles off; look at its page there for the dog rules first. Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton Coastal Walk is 2.2 miles from the hotel.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
