Lifton, Devon
Yes. Dogs can stay overnight, up to 2 dogs per room.
A Grade II listed hotel on the main road through Lifton in West Devon, sitting right on the Tamara Way and very happy to have dogs to stay.
Lifton Hall sits right on the Tamara Way, with moorland on the doorstep and the coast nearby, so this Grade II listed building, parts of it dating from the early 17th century, makes a dog friendly hotel for walkers. It combines traditional Devon character with modern refurbishments, on the main road through Lifton village.
There are four guest bedrooms, each with its own character and charm, and all have an en suite shower or bathroom, a flat-screen TV and a Nespresso machine. A room can take one large dog, about Labrador size, or 2 small dogs, and dogs should be kept under control and on a lead in the public areas. The hotel encourages you to bring your own pet bedding, and asks you to contact it before booking to say a dog is coming. Its pages don't state which rooms dogs use, or if they can be left alone in them, so ask then too.
The hotel's pages don't mention eating with your dog, so check that when you book. The building only opens to the public for Quiz Night, Saturday afternoon tea and the Sunday roast, so it is generally quieter, and evening meals for residents can be arranged. The roast won Best Devon Sunday Roast at the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards 2016, with a choice of meats and room for pudding, and afternoon tea brings sandwiches, savouries, cakes and desserts made on the premises.
Lifton is close to the market town of Tavistock and just over the border from Launceston, a central base for touring Devon and Cornwall. When the dog wants a beach, Wildpack's nearest dog friendly one is Millook Beach, 15.6 miles away.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
