Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa

Nantwich, Cheshire East

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.

An 1816 country house hotel near Nantwich in 38 acres of gardens and wooded parkland, with dog rooms picked for their easy reach of lawns or courtyards.

Mellowed sandstone walls and a fairy-tale tower announce Rookery Hall, built in 1816 and set amidst 38 acres of gardens and wooded parkland in the Cheshire countryside near Nantwich. Inside, oak, mahogany and a fine marble fireplace speak of its grandeur, and many of the 69 bedrooms look out over sweeping country views. All that ground makes it a dog friendly hotel where gardens and woodlands are part of your dog's stay.

A selection of rooms is kept for dogs, chosen because they step out easily onto expansive lawns or courtyards, so a quiet stroll is right on your doorstep, and plenty of treats are there on arrival. Two dogs per room is the ceiling. Around the hotel's public areas, dogs are expected to be well behaved and kept leashed, and you pick up after yours out across the gardens and woodlands. The hotel does not state whether dogs can be left unattended in your room; raise it before you travel.

Dogs aren't permitted in the restaurants, health club or spa; the lounges, bars and terraces are where food and drinks arrive with your dog right there under your feet. The Drawing Room & Bar serves brunch, light lunches and informal evening meals from noon, with cocktails and fine wines at the bar. The Restaurant holds three AA Rosettes for its modern British cooking, and afternoon tea is laid on in the Drawing Room beside the open fireplace.

Housed in the original stable block, the spa has held 5 Bubble Spa status since 2008, with an 18m glass roofed pool, a hydrotherapy pool, a mud rasul chamber and seven treatment rooms. Back outside, your dog has the lawns and wooded parkland, with strolls that begin at the door.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
