The Kestor Inn

Newton Abbot, Devon

Yes. Dogs can stay in 1 dog friendly room, up to 2 dogs per room.

A Dartmoor village pub with rooms in Manaton, where the one dog friendly room is on the ground floor and walks start from the door.

The Kestor Inn is a country inn in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, set back as you drive into the village of Manaton, with views towards Black Hill. It was named after the tor it was built from in the early 20th century, and this dog friendly inn suits a dog walking holiday, with endless countryside to explore from the doorstep for walking, rambling or riding.

One of the five rooms takes dogs: the ground floor room, with views of Dartmoor, for up to two dogs. Contact the inn directly to book it. Dogs aren't to be left alone in the room, so take yours with you at the start of each day.

The bar and the outside areas take dogs, though not the restaurant, where breakfast is served. If you'd like your dog beside you at breakfast, tell the team the night before and they can arrange it. The kitchen sends out fresh, home cooked, hearty pub food at lunch and in the evening, made with Devon produce, and the chef's specials at the weekend sell out on most nights. Sunday brings a carvery of local Devon meats with all the trimmings, popular with Manaton locals and beyond.

Outside there is a lawned beer garden with plenty of seating and a sheltered pagoda, and inside two log fires. Becky Falls, Hound Tor and Bowerman's Nose are all a two minute drive away. With the dog, Dartmoor: Becky Falls and Manaton Circular, on Wildpack's map, is 0.4 miles from the inn, and Haytor and Hound Tor Circular is 2.5 miles off.
