The Minster View

Beverley, East Yorkshire

A two bedroom terraced house for four in the shadow of Beverley Minster, with a ground floor bathroom and an enclosed garden the Minster stands over, three dogs welcome.

Book now

Somebody turned the main bedroom to face the Minster, so the first thing anyone sees in the morning is 700 years of Yorkshire stonework through a sash window. The Minster View is a dog friendly terrace for four in Beverley, and it takes three dogs, which is a good deal more than most town houses of this size will entertain.

Downstairs runs as one open room, the lounge giving into the kitchen with a feature fireplace and logs stacked beside it, a table for four, and the bathroom on the same level. The garden behind is enclosed with seating and a BBQ, and the Minster stands over the end of it. Three dogs will find the garden first and the fireplace second, and after that the week arranges itself.

The back door is open and all three dogs are out under the Minster wall while the bells get on with whatever the bells do at this hour. Somebody has walked up to Westwood, the common pasture above the town where the cattle graze and the racecourse sits in the middle of it, and come home the long way round the Beck. Nothing about the evening needs the car.

Beverley kept its cobbles, its independent shops and a serious number of pubs, most of them within a few streets of the door. Westwood and Beverley Beck are both walked from the house, one open grazing land and the other a straight green towpath. Hornsea's dog friendly sands lie 12 miles east, Hull and The Deep sit south, and York is an hour off if a day in a city appeals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is The Minster View dog friendly?

Yes, and generously so — The Minster View welcomes up to three dogs, which is notably more than most town houses of this size will accommodate. The enclosed garden is a natural first stop for arriving dogs, and with Westwood's open grazing land and Beverley Beck's towpath both walkable from the front door, there's plenty to keep them happy throughout the stay.

  • Are dogs allowed at The Minster View year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to check directly with the property when booking to confirm availability for your dates. What is clear is that the setup — enclosed garden, walkable countryside, and a fireplace with logs stacked beside it — suits a dog-friendly visit in any season.

  • What should I know before visiting The Minster View with my dog?

The house takes up to three dogs, so it's worth confirming your number when you book. The garden is enclosed, which is reassuring for letting dogs out, and both Westwood common and Beverley Beck are within walking distance without needing the car. If a beach day is on the cards, Hornsea's dog-friendly sands are around 12 miles east.
