Book now

Ty Twt is a three bedroom dog friendly cottage for six in the village of Clynderwen, right in the middle of Pembrokeshire, and the lawned garden goes all the way round it. The fence around that garden is palisade, 4ft high, and the owners ask guests to bear it in mind if their dog can jump that height.

For most dogs that means a lawn on every side of the house to wander, sniff and doze on, with seating and furniture for the people. For a dog that clears fences for sport, it means staying out there together. Inside, the owners have thought ahead: there is a dog crate with a blanket, doggy extras in the welcome pack, and a stair gate available on request, so two dogs are provided for from the moment the car door opens.

The house was refitted in 2023 with a new bathroom and new carpets, and the heart of it is the open plan kitchen and dining room, with a living room next door with an electric fire. One king size bedroom sits downstairs next to a bathroom with a bath and separate shower, which suits anyone who would rather not climb. Upstairs are a second king and a twin, with their own shower room. It is laid out for a family, grandparents included, and a dog or two asleep by the fire after tea.

Clynderwen is well placed for the south Pembrokeshire coast. Amroth is the nearest beach, with Saundersfoot and Tenby beyond it, and Narberth, the small market town just down the road, has galleries and cafés. Canaston Woods are close for trails under the trees with the dogs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Ty Twt dog friendly?

Yes, Ty Twt is dog friendly and set up to welcome up to two dogs. The owners have put real thought into it — there's a lawned garden wrapping around the whole cottage, a dog crate with a blanket provided, and doggy extras included in the welcome pack, so your dog can settle in from the moment you arrive.

  • Are dogs allowed at Ty Twt year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs at Ty Twt, so it's worth contacting the owners directly to confirm availability for your dates. As a dog-friendly cottage rather than a beach or outdoor space, there's no reason to expect the welcome to vary by season.

  • What should I know before visiting Ty Twt with my dog?

The garden is enclosed by a 4ft palisade fence, which is fine for most dogs but worth bearing in mind if yours is a confident jumper — the owners ask guests to keep that in mind and stay outside together with a dog that might clear it. A stair gate is also available on request if you'd like to keep your dog off the stairs, and the cottage sleeps two dogs, so there's no need to leave anyone at home.
