Knebworth House Estate Circular Walk
Hertfordshire
This loop follows the Old Knebworth and Norton Green circular out through the estate of the Lytton family's Gothic Revival pile at Knebworth House, threading the deer park and adjoining ancient woodland. The route is dog friendly in the sense that it is a long, pleasant countryside ramble, but this is primarily a deer park and a short lead is essential whenever deer are in sight, which is most of the time.
Off the estate, the walk drops into the quieter fields around Norton Green and the old coach road, where dogs can come off lead across open countryside. Paths are well marked and mostly flat with a couple of gentle rises, and can be muddy through the woods. Free on-site parking is available when the house itself is not hosting an event, with tea rooms and toilets during opening hours.
