North Berwick Law Circular Walk

Edinburgh

Dog Friendly Rating:7/10A short but steep climb up an iconic volcanic plug above North Berwick, with stunning coastal views across the Firth of Forth.

North Berwick Law is a dog friendly hill walk that packs spectacular views into a short outing. This volcanic plug rises 187m above the East Lothian coast, and the circular route from the car park takes in the summit and a loop of the lower slopes, offering views to Bass Rock, the Isle of May and across the Firth of Forth to Fife.

Dogs can be off lead on the lower slopes, though you should be aware of Exmoor ponies that graze the hillside for conservation purposes. The summit approach involves a short rocky scramble that may challenge smaller or less agile dogs. The car park is free and located off the B1347, signed from the town centre. There are no facilities at the car park itself, but North Berwick town centre is a short walk away with plenty of dog friendly cafes and public toilets.
