Bettyhill Beach
Highlands
Bettyhill Beach is a wide sandy beach near the village of Bettyhill on the north Sutherland coast, with the River Naver flowing into the sea at the western end. The beach faces north across the Pentland Firth toward Orkney. Bettyhill and the area around it was deeply affected by the Highland Clearances, and the Strathnaver Museum in the local church tells this story. The beach is wide and accessible with a good car park.
No dog restrictions apply at Bettyhill Beach. Year-round access.
