Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Laide Beach dog friendly?

Laide Beach is very dog friendly, with no restrictions in place for dogs at any time of year. It earns a solid 8/10 on our dog-friendly rating, and the beach's remote, quiet character means your dog can enjoy the space without the crowds you'd find at busier coastal spots.

  • Are dogs allowed at Laide Beach year round?

Yes, dogs are welcome at Laide Beach throughout the year with no seasonal restrictions. This makes it a great option for a winter coastal walk as much as a summer outing.

  • What should I know before visiting Laide Beach with my dog?

Laide Beach is a beautifully wild and undeveloped spot on the Wester Ross coast, so there are no facilities on site — it's worth coming prepared with water and supplies for both you and your dog. Parking is available roadside at the beach, and if you need amenities, the nearest options are in Aultbea or Gairloch. The surrounding Torridonian sandstone landscape is spectacular, but the roads in this part of the Highlands are remote, so factor in some extra travel time.
