Tulloch Castle Hotel

Dingwall, Highland

Yes. Dogs can stay in all rooms.

A 12th century castle hotel above Dingwall, where every bedroom takes dogs and the Green Lady Bar welcomes them in too.

Tulloch Castle dates from the 12th century, when the Bains and later the Clan Davidson laid claim to its lands, and it stands above the ancient town of Dingwall with the Cromarty Firth and the Black Isle in front of it. Only the Laird or the Chief of the Clan once got to stay in a Scottish highland castle; now anyone can, and at this dog friendly hotel every one of the bedrooms is open to dogs.

Dogs are welcome in all the bedrooms, each one with its own character and charm, some of them with four-poster beds. The Davidson Suite is the castle's ground floor bedroom. Tea and coffee making facilities come as standard, and a laundry service is also available.

Turrets Restaurant and the Green Lady Bar both serve food daily from early evening, open to non-residents as well as guests, and a table can be reserved by phone. Dogs are welcome in the Green Lady Bar. Where else you might eat with one the hotel does not say, so put that in the same call. Breakfast is served every morning.

The castle has kept its period features, among them the panelled Great Hall, 250 years old, and the original fireplaces and ceilings, painstakingly restored. Three championship golf courses are a short drive away and reception will reserve tee times, while the Moray Firth offers a chance to spot dolphins. For the dog, Wildpack's map shows Fyrish Monument Circular, Evanton 4.0 miles from the castle, and Fortrose Beach, the closest dog friendly sand it lists, is 11.3 miles away.
