Yes. Dogs can stay overnight.
A 580 year old Dartmoor house with six rooms near Exeter, set in five acres of garden and field where dogs can run, with walks from the door.
Stone and cob walls, exposed beams and granite fireplaces: Weeke Barton is a 580 year old Grade II listed Dartmoor house on the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park, 20 minutes from Exeter and surrounded by the rolling hills, woodland and pastures of the Teign Valley. There are plenty of great walks straight from the house, and this dog friendly hotel is set up for long days outdoors and quiet evenings in.
The hotel has dog towels, an outside dog shower and a poo bin, and the five acres of garden and field give them room for what the hotel calls lead-free living. Pack their food, bowls and bed, as those come with you. The house only takes a few dogs at a time, so check there is space when you book; what the hotel doesn't say is if your companion may stay alone in the bedroom.
Breakfast is included, and on Mondays and Wednesdays there is a two course supper at 7pm, with 24 hours' notice needed. The hotel doesn't say where your dog can be while you dine, so ask about that as well. The dining room and the lounge each have a wood burner, and the licensed bar is stocked with local heroes.
The garden drifts down to a stream, with a pétanque pitch, a cricket wicket and a fire pit, and big, open views across the Teign Valley. The beds are made with 600 count Egyptian cotton and goose down duvets, and one room has a freestanding bath in the room itself. For longer outings with the dog, Wildpack's Teign Gorge Circular Walk is 4 miles away and the Haldon Forest Discovery Trail 4.4 miles away.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
