Belvide Reservoir Circular Walk
Staffordshire
Belvide is a large birding reservoir just north of Brewood managed by the West Midland Bird Club, with the actual shore closed to the general public without a permit. This 6 km circular instead gives a dog friendly loop through the farmland and canal towpath that surrounds it.
The route starts in Brewood and picks up the Shropshire Union Canal towpath north to Shutt Green and the reservoir boundary before returning via public footpaths through farmland. Dogs need to be on a lead on the towpath and through stock fields, with plenty of space for a relaxed pace along quieter lane sections. Roadside parking is available in Brewood and the Oakley Arms pub welcomes dogs for a stop at the end.
