Chasewater Country Park Circular
Staffordshire
Chasewater is a huge reservoir and country park straddling the Staffordshire and West Midlands boundary, with a flat 5 km trail all the way around the water. It is thoroughly dog friendly, with plenty of off lead space in the open fields and woodland on the southern side.
The main circuit itself is on a tarmac and gravel path suitable for buggies and older dogs, with benches and water access points along the way. Livestock are not an issue but keep dogs close around cyclists and on the open water edge where geese and swans nest in spring. Pay and display parking is at the Innovation Centre, where the cafe, toilets and a small heritage railway make it easy to linger.
