Camusdarach Beach
Highlands
Camusdarach Beach is a stunning white shell-sand beach on the Road to the Isles near Morar, backed by dunes and grass and featured most famously in the 1983 film Local Hero. The beach has a wild, cinematic beauty: white sand, turquoise water, and the dramatic silhouettes of the Small Isles on the horizon. It remains as visually extraordinary today as it appeared in the film. The beach is part of a stretch of exceptional coastal scenery between Arisaig and Mallaig.
No dog restrictions apply at Camusdarach Beach. Year-round access. A short walk from the road through dunes. One of Scotland's most beautiful beaches.
