Troon North Beach is a long, open sandy beach facing north-west across the Firth of Clyde toward the Isle of Arran. The beach is wide and exposed, popular with surfers and dog walkers alike. The views north along the Ayrshire coast and west to Arran are extensive. Troon's ferry service to Larne in Northern Ireland departs from the harbour at the southern end of town.

No dog restrictions apply at Troon North Beach. Year-round dog access. Wide open sands and good off-lead potential make this one of the more satisfying Ayrshire beach walks.
