Culzean Castle Country Park Coastal Walk

Glasgow

Dog Friendly Rating:8/10A stunning coastal circuit from Maidens through Culzean Castle's country park, combining sandy beaches, clifftop paths and historic woodland.

The Culzean Castle Country Park coastal walk is a dog friendly circuit that combines sandy beach, rocky shoreline, woodland and one of Scotland's most spectacular clifftop castles. Starting from Maidens harbour, the route follows the coast north along the beach before climbing into the country park grounds, passing swan ponds, formal gardens and the castle itself.

Dogs are welcome on the coastal path and through the grounds, though they should be kept on lead near the castle and formal garden areas. The beach section at the start is perfect for off lead running. The country park grounds are free to enter from Maidens, though castle entry requires a ticket. Check tide times before setting out as some beach sections are impassable at the highest spring tides. Parking is at the seafront car park at the north end of Maidens.
